Personal data is any information that can be used to identify you. The personal information we collect might include name, address, email address and telephone.
How we collect your personal data
We obtain personal information from you when you make a donation to us, enquire about our events and activities, register with us, send or receive an email, ask us a question about our services or otherwise provide us with your personal information.
We also gather your personal data from organisations providing fundraising services on our behalf, such as JustGiving and Virgin Money Giving.
How we process your personal data, we may use your personal information for:

• Supporting your fundraising activity
• Keeping a record of your relationship and communications with us
• Sending you fundraising and direct marketing communications about the work we do

The safety of children is very important to us. We will only display the name of a child or family and associated information if we have consent from the family involved.

We may use personal information for analysis and profiling, to improve fundraising efficiency and help us make the most appropriate requests for support. On occasion we may also make use of publicly available demographic information. We will only use data collected in this manner for purposes to which you have consented.
From time to time we will use external data sources to maintain the quality and accuracy of postal contact details.
We would like to keep in touch with you about the work we do, our fundraising events and activities, our appeals and campaigns, and how your donations are used.
We will only contact you by email, SMS or telephone with your consent. If we contact you by post, we will not contact you again if you ask us not to.

Stein Foundation will not sell or share personal details with third parties for the purposes of their own marketing.
Your information may be shared with us by independent fundraising organisations, for example online fundraising websites like JustGiving or Virgin Money Giving. If you consent to your data being shared with Stein Foundation as part of making your donation or setting up a fundraising page on their website, they will provide your personal data to us. Please ensure you check their Privacy Policies to understand fully how they will process your data.
Where we use an external service provider to act on our behalf, we will disclose only the personal information necessary to deliver the service and will have a contract in place that requires the provider to comply with Stein Foundation Data Protection and information security requirements.
We may disclose your personal information to third parties if we are obliged to by law, or the disclosure is ‘necessary’ for purposes of national security, taxation and criminal investigation, or we have your consent.
How we protect your personal information
We adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal or transactional data stored on our website and systems.
How we process your financial information
We use external payment service providers to process donations and payments by credit and debit card, or to administer direct debit donations. Your bank or credit/debit card details are not retained by Stein Foundation.
Where we store your information
All information you provide to us or which is shared with us is stored on our secure servers.
On rare occasions, for financial or technical reasons, Stein Foundation may need to use Internet Service Providers located outside of the European Economic Area.
In cases where we use external websites provided by other organisations such as Twitter or Facebook, then we would ask you to consult their Privacy Policies.
